Our Ambassadors

Pat Lavoie (Le Presse Citron)
With Pat is was something like love at first sight. The day we met, boom, it just clicked. At the end of our coffee, I laid out a series of freshly forged knives in front of him, and he chose to buy one for himself. Not trying to bargain. Not trying to get a special deal. But simply because he loved it.
A few days later, he was the first to say yes to representing Kaizen Knives. When I asked him what he had to gain from it, he replied: "What makes me happiest is being able to look back in a few years and say, 'I was there at the beginning, and I'm proud of how far we've come.'"
With Pat, you always get the bare truth. He never tries to push a product he doesn’t believe in, and he doesn’t even force a product he loves. He talks about it, shares it, uses it, and that’s it. The cool thing is, he’s got a big mouth. So when he likes something, he doesn’t hold back from saying it.
I love this guy. He moves me, inspires me with his honesty and energy, and honestly, I’m very proud that he represents Kaizen and helps propel the products I create with all my heart.

Sandra Plourd (Sandra Foodie)
I met Sandra through a friend (Alex from Humble Artisan) who kept telling me, “Morgan, you have to meet Sandra—I really think it’s going to be a great fit.”
The day I finally felt ready (it’s always about timing), I called Alex, and by some amazing coincidence, Sandra was in town that very day (I live in Montreal, she lives in Quebec City!) and happened to have one free hour before leaving town (she’s the super busy type…). I guess it was meant to be.

We met, and sure enough, we clicked. She’s generous, full of energy, always smiling—and, as you might have guessed, she’s an incredible cook, like next level! In case you didn’t recognize her, she’s the winner of MasterChef Québec 2024. That says a lot about her skills and determination.

After a few days of trying out and getting a feel for her new Kaizen knife, she said yes without hesitation to becoming a brand ambassador. What a privilege to be supported by someone with that level of talent and character. I’m truly honored.

Rémi Durand
Chef Rémi is the kind of client you’d want 100% of the time in a craft-based business.
He’s incredibly kind and curious, respectful of handmade work, appreciative of the final aesthetic, and demanding when it comes to performance. In short, he pushes me to be better at my craft—and proudly talks about it to those around him.

Rémi is the Executive Chef at Monarque, one of Montreal’s most prestigious restaurants. He’s truly top-notch, known for his precision and his passion for French cuisine.

He discovered Kaizen Knives on social media, then came to meet us at the Salon des métiers d’art in 2023, where he picked up his first blade.
Since then, he’s added three Kaizen knives to his collection—including a custom model we co-created to fit his exact needs.

When the time came, it was a no-brainer for him to become a Kaizen ambassador.
He puts our blades to the test every single day, and his values align perfectly with ours.
It’s a real honor to have him on the team!
